Junior Club, July 2025

Monique Miscusi, Junior Club chair

This month, we had a great time at the club picnic and enjoyed the rock auction and exchange. We additionally enjoyed the water balloons and having target practice with the tree.

This month, we also had an outreach opportunity to teach the Federation of North American Explorers Timberwolf Girls group about the geology of Goblin Colony located in Paliza Canyon in Jemez. It is a great location to
see the amazing past volcanic activity that helped create the beautiful landscapes we have in our lovely state.

I was able to give the scouts some rock samples to pique their interest in geology and help kick start a rock collection of their own. Your donations to the club are greatly appreciated.

This coming month we will be exploring Earth processes with hands-on activities to better understand how nature can build, destroy, and create new landscapes that change over time!
