Setup and Shutdown of Equipment

6″ Trim Saw

  1. Check blade for damage.
  2. Lift cutting table to gain access to cooling reservoir.
  3. Place sufficient coolant into reservoir so that there is no more than 1/4″ of the blade wet when submerged.
  4. Close cutting table and secure table latch.
  5. Make sure the blade guard is not touching the blade or that any small stones are jammed against the blade.
  6. Turn it on.
  7. Verify there is sufficient coolant in reservoir by observing the line of coolant being thrown out in front of the blade onto the cutting table.
  8. Saw is now set up for use.
  9. Remember to take your time with harder stones like agates.
  10. Remember to turn off the saw when you are no longer working on it.
  11. Between users, always recheck points 5 to 7 above.
  12. To shut down at end of day: power off.

EZ-CAB Machine & Lortone Twin Arbors

  1. Check wheel surfaces and edges for damage.
  2. Check wastewater bucket and empty if necessary.
  3. Check that wastewater drain hose is in wastewater bucket.
  4. Fill a clean water bucket with clean water.
  5. Check that pump is in clean water bucket and all clean water flow lines are connected.
  6. Check that all water flow valves are turned off by turning counterclockwise until they stop.
  7. Turn on master switch.  This turns on the pump.
  8. Turn on the motor power/speed switch.
  9. Turn on the water flow valve for the wheel you are going to use, making sure there is a good flow of water across the wheel.
  10. The machine is now set up for use.
  11. Remember to turn off the water flow valve when you stop using a wheel.
  12. If there aren’t other users going to use the machine after you, please turn off the motor power/switch and master switch.
  13. To shut down at end of day: Turn off water flow valves, turn off motor, and turn off master.
